At our April general meeting, renowned honey bee researcher Dr. Marla Spivak will join us remo
tely for her presentation, "Why Hygienic Behavior is an Important Component to Honey Bee Health."
Speaker Bio: Marla Spivak is an Emeritus Professor in the Department of Entomology at the University of Minnesota. She began beekeeping in 1974 and has always been interested in ways to enhance the health and diversity of bees. She received numerous awards and recognitions during her career, and now in retirement, is happy to have more time to continue breeding bees for mite resistance, planting pollinator habitat, and enjoying other hobbies and pursuits.
