Mt. Diablo Beekeepers Association (MDBA) is dedicated to educating communities about honeybees and the historic art of beekeeping. Here are some of the people we visited in 2005.

3/9 Clayton Valley 4-H They came to Gary's backyard to see the bees and the demo hive.

Cub Scout Pack at Lafayette School

Theme meeting of Spring and Bees. Steve and Thelm took the demo hive.
3/16 Science Fair at Stanley School Jeff and daughter took the demo hive. Daughter did most of the talking.
3/19 Mt. Diablo School District Science Fair Jeff took the demo hive and equipment, along with honey and pretzels.
3/21 Woodside Elementary Five first grade classes in three sessions. Gary took the demo hive and equipments, as well as honey and pretzels.
3/24 Murwood Elementary Three fourth grade classes in the science room. Gary took demo hive, honey & pretzel sticks, video and hive equipment.
3/30 Hilltop Christian School Kindergarten and First grade classes. Gary took video and demo hive.
4/14 John Swett Elementary Four second grade classes. Gary took demo hive, bee equipment, and honey & pretzel sticks. Pitter will go along.
4/15 Jack London Elementary Four third grade classes. Gary took demo hive, bee equipment, and honey & pretzel sticks.
4/16 Earth Day Event at Crow Canyon Gardens Debbe Holeman took her demo hive and sell her honey. She also had honey sticks.
4/18 Heights Elementary Three first grade classes.
4/19 Pleasant Hill Master Gardeners Gary took demo hive, bee equipment, honey & pretzel sticks, and video. Talked about bees in gardens for about 40 minutes.
4/21 Neil Armstrong Elementary 3 kindergarden classes. Gary took demo hive, bee equipment, and honey & pretzel sticks.
5/1 Park Day School, Oakland Jeff took demo hive, pretzels and honey to "Fairy Lane".
5/2 Lafayette Elementary 3 kindergarden classes. Gary honey and pretzels. (They have the video.)
5/4 Krey Elementary Gary took video to 7 kindergarden classes.

Parkmead Elementary

Mary took her demo hive.
5/7 Wild Bird Center Phil Rice sold his honey and honey sticks. He took his demo hive.
5/7 Wild Birds Unlimited Gary took honey sticks, demo hive, equipment. Honey sales.
5/9 Vannoy Elementary Three classes of second graders. Gary took demo hive, bee equipment, and honey & pretzel sticks.
5/10 Clayton 4-H Group Came to visit the chickens and bees at Gary's place.
5/12 Seventh Day Adventist School Sophomore biology class visited Gary's chickens and bees.
5/13 Murray Elementary Second grade class, has video. Gary visited to talk about bees.
5/18 Seven Hills School Two first grade classes and a teachers' group. Gary took video, honey and pretzels.
5/19 Happy Valley School Second grade class in Science Lab. Gary took video and honey. They are studying plants and pollination.
5/19 Hearst Elementary Gary attended Open House. They have video.
5/20 Springhill Elementary Three first grade classes in Science Lab. Gary took honey & pretzel sticks.
5/20 Mohr Elementary Mary visited second grade class in Science Room.
5/21 Cub Scouts Troop visited chickens and bees at Gary's place.
5/23 Sequoia Day Care Gary took honey and pretzel sticks
5/25 Pixie Pre-School Pitter took a demo hive.
5/25 Hearst Elementary Kim Lounsbury borrowed a demo hive for her class.
5/27 Monte Gardens Elementary

6/2 Pleasant Hill Elementary Gary visited 5 second grade classes
6/2-6/5 Contra Costa County Fair MDBA hosted a booth in the agricultural pavilion. Honey sticks and members' honey were for sale. Open hive demo for school visits.
