Community Education

Mount Diablo Beekeepers Association (MDBA) is dedicated to educating groups in our community about honeybees and the historic art of beekeeping. We have a number of volunteers who visit schools, scout troops, garden clubs, and other interested groups. Typically, our visits include a demonstration hive with live bees, posters, beekeeping equipment, and honey tasting. We have created a DVD, "Our Buzzy Buddies", 19 minutes long, which is available free of charge. We ask that a donation ($25 minimum per visit) be made in the form of a check to MOUNT DIABLO BEEKEEPERS ASSOCIATION. The check should be presented to the beekeeper at the time of visit.

Here are some of the people we visited in 2011. If you're interested in having us visit your classroom or event, please contact or to arrange a visit.
